An organized criminal group was uncovered following 39 raids in Bucharest and nine counties, involved in the fraudulent settlement of expensive medicines in the health system. Members of the group bought medicines from low-income patients and resold them for significant profits. The illicit mechanism involved buying prescriptions, working with doctors and pharmacies, and reintroducing the drugs into the commercial circuit, including into the European Union. The investigation is being coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Bucharest Tribunal.
