Documents obtained by Ukrainian hackers from the computer of Aleksandr Dughin, the Russian ultra-nationalist ideologue, indicate that Georgescu was among 24 Romanians with pro pro-Russian interests who attended a meeting in Vienna. The exclusion of Călin Georgescu from the list of candidates for the presidential election comes after months of speculation following the Constitutional Court's decision to annul the December 2024 elections.
