The National Directorate for Cyber Security warns about a fraud campaign that imitates the courier company DHL.

The National Directorate for Cyber Security (DNSC) has issued a warning regarding a new fraud campaign posing as being from the courier company DHL. Users receive SMS messages stating that the delivery of the package has not been completed and that they need to pay a fee of 3.57 lei for rescheduling.

The message includes a link that appears authentic but leads to a fraudulent site, where users are asked to enter their card details. Experts emphasize that an attacker monitors the data entry in real-time, and the OTP code received on the phone is immediately captured to authorize a fraudulent transaction.

DNSC recommends avoiding access to links in unsolicited SMS or emails and warns users not to enter OTP codes on suspicious sites. In the event that card details have been entered, users should contact their bank to block the card and report the incident to the police. Additionally, DNSC suggests installing the 'DNSC Blacklist Protection' extension for extra protection against fraudulent sites.
