The searches carried out by the DNA at the Braila County Council target the president of the institution, Francisk Iulian Chiriac, and the sports club HC Dunarea Braila, led by the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Mihai Tudose.
DNA representatives confirmed the conduct of these actions but did not provide details about the nature of the case or the individuals involved. Currently, the searches are ongoing, and the prosecutors have not announced specific charges. Previously, there were public discussions regarding the funding of the HC Dunarea Braila club from public funds, with PNL county councilors requesting an increase in the budget allocated to the club.
The total amount allocated reached 13.2 million lei, generating controversy regarding the use of public money for a team without players from Braila.
