The DNA prosecutors are investigating the modernization of the 'Delta Dunării' Airport in Tulcea, a project worth 70 million euros, following a report from the FACIAS Foundation. The investigation focuses on possible fraud with European funds and abuse of office. The airport, with a capacity of 400 passengers per hour, had a traffic of only 47 passengers in the first five months of 2025, while the allowances of the Board of Directors have tripled. FACIAS is requesting transparency and explanations regarding the funding and the project's impact on the community.
