On Monday, prosecutors from the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) conducted searches in six locations in Ilfov and Iași counties, in an investigation regarding tax evasion in the field of ride-sharing activities. Five individuals are suspected, and the estimated damage amounts to nearly 25 million lei.
This is the first investigation of this type coordinated by the DNA, considering that all involved cases have damages exceeding 1 million euros, which grants jurisdiction to anti-corruption prosecutors. In recent months, ANAF has identified issues in ride-sharing activities, including the non-registration of amounts collected through cash registers and the non-payment of taxes for employed drivers. Additionally, ANAF has imposed fines of over 3 million lei and suspended over 12,000 vehicles involved in these services.
