The head of the ICU and the head of the Infection Prevention Service have been dismissed after seven children died due to an infection with the Serratia Marcescens bacteria.

The manager of the 'Sfânta Maria' children's hospital in Iași, Radu Constantin Luca, announced the dismissal of Oana Puiu and Carmen Popescu following the deaths of seven infected children. The hospital stated that it is responsibly addressing the situation generated by the infection outbreak and is awaiting an official report from the Ministry of Health. The President of the Iași County Council, Costel Alexe, called for the dismissal of all those responsible for violating medical protocols and promised strict enforcement of the recommended measures.
