Tiberiu Paul Neagu, head of the Burn Center at Floreasca Hospital, has been dismissed from his post after an outbreak of Candida auris infection was discovered.

Tiberiu Paul Neagu has been sacked by the manager of Floreasca Hospital after being accused of irresponsibility in the management of a Candida auris outbreak. Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete called for his resignation, pointing out that Neagu was on vacation during the crisis. Controls confirmed multi-resistant infections in patients, and Neagu has not offered public explanations. The head of the microbiology laboratory, Ileana Coldea, was also dismissed.
