The Bucharest Tribunal decided on Friday that Mihai Rafiu, Tiberiu Alexandru Pîrvu, and Liliana Sorescu, directors in the defense industry, should be placed under house arrest for 30 days, being accused of corruption. The decision was made following a request from DNA prosecutors, who sought the preventive arrest of the four defendants, including a company administrator.
According to DNA, between 2025-2026, Rafiu allegedly received 48,000 lei for initiating procurement procedures, Pîrvu 25,900 lei for approving orders, and Sorescu 24,250 lei for the formalities of receiving goods. Additionally, Sorescu received 3,800 USD for fulfilling her duties, an amount she later converted to its equivalent in lei. The searches conducted led to the discovery of approximately 500,000 euros at Pîrvu's residence. The investigation continues regarding other individuals involved.
