Diana Buzoianu, the Minister of the Environment, announced that she has notified the National Integrity Agency (ANI) regarding a potential conflict of interest at Romsilva, signaled by the European Investment Bank (EIB). The case involves Daniel Nicolăescu, deputy director of the Vâlcea Forestry Directorate, who, while holding the position at Romsilva, was also employed by the private company Chimpromet SRL.
This company won a public procurement conducted by the Vâlcea Forestry Directorate for torrent correction works, funded by European funds. Buzoianu emphasized the importance of protecting public funds and announced that field inspections will follow to verify the proper use of funds, ensuring that the rules are respected by all.
