A large fire broke out on Saturday afternoon at a lumber factory in Hemeiuș, Bacău County.

A large fire broke out on Saturday afternoon at a timber factory in Hemeiuș commune, Hemeiuș village, causing large smoke emissions. The Bacău Emergency Situations Inspectorate mobilized five fire trucks with water and foam, one intervention and command vehicle, as well as a SMURD crew to manage the situation.

Upon the arrival of the teams, the fire was spreading over an area of approximately 2000 – 2500 square meters, affecting three halls of the factory. Authorities issued a RO-Alert message to inform and warn the local population about the danger of dense smoke. The firefighting mission is ongoing, and firefighters are working to locate and extinguish the fire.
