Devastating fire at a warehouse in Giurgiu: 5,000 sqm engulfed in flames, emergency intervention

A strong fire broke out in the yard of a recycling depot for plastic and polyethylene waste in the locality of Zorile, Giurgiu County, affecting approximately 5,000 square meters. Due to the dense smoke, the authorities issued a RO-ALERT message for the residents of Grădinari and Buturugeni and notified the Environmental Guard.

Several fire trucks from Giurgiu and Bucharest-Ilfov, along with SMURD, SAJ, and police crews, were mobilized for the intervention. The fire has been contained, and firefighters continue operations for complete extinguishment and risk elimination, recommending the population to avoid the area, keep windows closed, and not to expose themselves to the smoke.
