The Bucharest Tribunal announced that Deputy Andrei Csillag, a member of the 'Union for Romania' group, has been definitively sentenced to 8 months in prison with suspension for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The sentence was confirmed by the High Court of Cassation and Justice on May 12, without being contested. In addition to the main penalty, Csillag will be banned from driving for one year from the finality of the ruling. The convicted person will be subject to a 2-year probation period, during which he must report to the Iași Probation Service, participate in a social reintegration program, and perform unpaid community service for 60 days. The permanent office of the Chamber of Deputies has acknowledged the conviction and forwarded the information to the legal committee. Andrei Csillag is a deputy from Bistrița-Năsăud, elected on the POT lists.
