Daciana Sârbu, the former wife of Victor Ponta, reacted after he accused that their daughter, Irina, could not leave Oman due to the intervention of Minister Țoiu. Sârbu explained that the minister called to say that it was not good for Irina to be on the plane.

In a Facebook post, she emphasized that the flight was half empty, so Irina was not taking the place of another child. Daciana also clarified that Irina is a minor until she turns 18, is not a resident of the United Arab Emirates, and that she contacted the consulate to arrange her daughter's return. Sârbu expressed empathy for those in difficult situations, hoping that no one has to go through such an experience.
