Cseke Attila, Minister of Development, said that seismic strengthening of buildings in Bucharest must be the main priority in the city's development. Although the ministry has a record budget of 7.6 billion lei, only 34 projects have been approved for funding, and of these only 7 have been contracted. The ministry has simplified approval procedures to speed up the implementation of these works, but local authorities must mobilize to use the available funds.
