Cristian Tudor Popescu commented on Facebook about the case of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old American citizen, who was fatally shot by federal agents in Minneapolis. The journalist used an ironic tone, stating that Pretti was "overwhelmed" by seven agents who attacked him while he was trying to protect a woman. CTP emphasized that the man was holding a phone in his hand, not a weapon, and accused the authorities of instructing the agents to shoot without fear of consequences.

He mentioned that Pretti is the third person shot by federal agents in Minneapolis in the same month, after a woman was killed and an immigrant was injured in other incidents. Popescu criticized the statements of the authorities who consider the agents innocent before investigations, highlighting a systemic problem of abuse of power.
