Crin Antonescu denies the connection with the photos published by Elena Lasconi before the elections: "I had no connection with this matter. I don't know what else I could tell you."

Crin Antonescu, the former presidential candidate supported by PSD-PNL-UDMR, stated that he had no connection with the photos published a few days before the elections in May 2025, which G4Media.ro reported were a staging.

Antonescu claimed that these images did not help him in the campaign, being broadcast by Elena Lasconi, who allegedly lost votes in favor of Nicușor Dan.

"If I remember correctly, I believe that Mrs. Lasconi produced that video. It did not help me in any way in the electoral campaign, because Mrs. Lasconi produced this issue.

The two opponents, Nicușor Dan and Victor Ponta, denied. They also opened this action. From this issue, we cannot figure out, but, in principle, Mrs. Lasconi lost some votes that probably went to Nicușor Dan", said Crin Antonescu.

Although polls showed a tight competition between Antonescu and Dan, G4Media.ro sources suggest that the operation may have been commissioned by the liberals to ensure Antonescu's victory. He stated that he has no knowledge of the individuals involved in the creation of the photos and emphasized that Lasconi was responsible for producing them.
