An incident occurred on Sunday at the ceremony held at the Air Heroes Monument in Bucharest, where a soldier from the 30th "Mihai Viteazul" Guard Brigade was about to faint while next to the Chief of the Defense Staff, General Gheorghiță Vlad.
The soldier felt unwell, and other officers and the head of the Emergency Situations Department, Raed Arafat, intervened to help him. Meanwhile, General Gheorghiță Vlad continued his speech, an act that sparked controversy.
The incident took place during the events dedicated to Romanian Aviation Day and the Air Forces. The ceremony was organized on the occasion of Romanian Aviation Day and the Air Forces, celebrated annually on July 20, and included wreath-laying, flyovers of military aircraft, and air demonstrations, aimed at recognizing the contribution of aviation to the security of Romania.
