Constantin Dănuț Hanț was mentioned in the intercepts of the anti-corruption prosecutors, being accused of having fictitiously employed Călin Georgescu at a company in Austria to help him avoid the ban on leaving the country. Hanț and his wife, Laura, have connections with Romanian politicians and have benefited from financial support from the Government for promoting Romania abroad. Additionally, Hanț's name appears in the corruption case of businessman Fănel Bogoș, being part of a group suspected of influence peddling, coordinated by a retired SIE general.
The cultural and diplomatic activities of the Hanț family hide a complex network of businesses, including participation in the inauguration of the Mihai Eminescu monument in Austria and involvement in various companies. Laura Hanț was the president of the PSD branch in Austria but withdrew from politics in 2014. Furthermore, Constantin Hanț is associated with several firms in Romania and Austria, some of which have connections to individuals convicted of corruption. Digi24 attempted to obtain a statement from Hanț but did not receive a response.
