Romanians are returning from the Easter mini-holiday, causing congestion on the main roads connecting the mountain resorts to the capital and the rest of the country. Traffic is heavy on Monday, with lines of cars on DN 1 and DN 7, according to the Romanian Police Traffic Center.

On DN 1, congestion is felt on the descending lane from Brașov towards Ploiești, especially between Predeal and Bușteni, but also in the area of the town of Comarnic. On DN 7 Pitești – Sibiu, traffic values are high in the localities of Lazaret, Căciulata, Bujoreni, and Dedulești.

Police are present to ease traffic flow and provide recommendations to drivers, such as increasing the safety distance, avoiding risky overtaking, and respecting other road users.

Additionally, it is suggested to use alternative routes to avoid congestion, especially on DN 1 Bucharest – Ploiești – Brașov:

DN 1A: Bucharest – A3 Highway – Ploiești – Cheia – Brașov;Via Pitești/Câmpulung: Bucharest – A1 Highway – Pitești – Câmpulung – DN 73 – Râșnov;Via Târgoviște: Bucharest – DN 71 – Târgoviște – DN 72A – Câmpulung – DN 73 – Râșnov or Bucharest – Târgoviște – DN 71 – Sinaia.
