A man and a woman from Galați have been arrested for the rape of minors and child pornography, being accused of abusing two children and distributing the materials on social media.

The DIICOT prosecutors in Brăila have sent to trial a 48-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both in preventive custody, for the rape of minors, complicity in rape, and child pornography.

The incident took place on November 7, 2025, when the man sexually abused two of the woman's children, a three-month-old baby and a one-year-and-seven-month-old girl, while the mother filmed the abusive acts. The materials were edited and distributed on the social network TikTok, which alerted the authorities. The victims were taken by Child Protection and placed in the care of a foster parent. The case has been forwarded to the Galați Tribunal, and the prosecutors have requested an extension of the preventive measures.
