The Metrorex company announced the completion of the second tunnel segment, with a length of approximately 2 km, between the future stations Tokyo, Băneasa Airport, and Băneasa Train Station, on Line 1. The TBM 'Sfânta Ana' excavated 2,006 meters and installed 1,334 tunnel rings, significantly advancing the works. Metrorex emphasizes the effort made to construct a new subway line in Bucharest, which will include 12 stations and will be served by 12 new trains. The M6 line will have a route of 14.2 km of double track, and the South and North sections are being built by associations of specialized firms. The first 'train', Sf Maria, arrived at Băneasa Train Station on January 20, 2026.
