The Prut-Bârlad Water Basin Administration has announced the completion of the restoration works for the rivers affected by the floods in September last year, in the counties of Galați and Vaslui. These works aimed to restore the water drainage capacity and limit the effects of the floods, including cleaning, sanitation, unblocking, and dredging over 135.6 km.

In Galați, the works were carried out on 14 sectors of watercourses, while in Vaslui on six sectors. The total value of the works was 19.753 million lei excluding VAT. The administration emphasizes the importance of involving local administrative units in managing the risks associated with floods, as well as the need to improve collaboration among authorities in emergency management.
