A company in the town of Surduc, Sălaj County, specialized in wood processing, has announced the collective dismissal of all 73 employees. This is the first collective layoff in the county this year, analyzed during the meeting of the Social Dialogue Commission. The director of AJOFM Sălaj, Daniel Opre, detailed the layoff process, which took place in stages, with the last registrations being made recently. Affected individuals can benefit from unemployment benefits for a period of up to 12 months, depending on their seniority. AJOFM is in discussions with an employer from the Jibou Industrial Park to take on some of the former employees, depending on their specializations. Prefect Claudiu Bărsan highlighted the difficulties faced by the wood processing industry, caused by rising energy prices and the closure of markets in Russia and Ukraine, as well as unfair competition from outside the European Union.
