The Environmental Guard of Brăila announced that a company conducting port activities in the Chișcani Industrial Platform area left approximately 100 cubic meters of alluvial soil in the main bed of the Danube River, resulting from the dredging of the watercourse. As a result of this violation of the legislation, the company was fined 75,000 lei, according to the provisions of art. 87, paragraph (18) of Law 107/1996.

The Environmental Guard emphasized that the deposition of materials in riverbeds or on the banks of watercourses is prohibited. Additionally, the company was fined 3,000 lei for failing to present the waste management records, thus violating the provisions of HG 856/200. Dredging activities will be prohibited until compliance with the current legislation is achieved.
