A police chief commissioner was arrested preventively after being caught by anti-corruption investigators while receiving a bribe. He allegedly promised to intervene to delay court proceedings in exchange for the sum of 30,000 lei. Following the sting operation, investigators discovered stacks of money in the glove compartment of his car. Gabriel Gărniță, the leader of the Sidepol union, warned that those who offer bribes will not achieve favorable results, emphasizing that cases are resolved slowly due to the workload of the police officers. In another case, Commissioner Ciulei Adrian demanded 29,800 lei to facilitate a non-prosecution solution, but later asked for 10,000 lei to delay the trial. He was caught in the act in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant in Giurgiu.
