CNAIR has submitted the documentation for the revision of the Environmental Agreement for section 2 Boița - Cornetu of the Sibiu - Pitești highway.

The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) announced that it submitted, on August 12, 2026, the necessary documentation for the revision of the Environmental Agreement for section 2 Boița - Cornetu of the Sibiu - Pitești highway to the National Agency for Environment and Protected Areas (ANMAP).

The general director of CNAIR, Cristian Pistol, mentioned that currently, contractors can work only on 45% of the site, focusing on tunnels and structures, with an overall physical progress of nearly 15%. At the tunnels in Boița, Robești, and Balota, work is progressing, with physical stages ranging between 5% and 40%.

The mountainous section, measuring 31.33 km, includes 7 tunnels and 24 viaducts, with a contract value of 4.25 billion lei.
