The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) has launched a tender for the implementation of the e-Sigur system, a project worth 82 million lei. This system will include the installation of 400 radars with cameras on national roads, aiming to monitor the average speed of vehicles on certain sections. For example, if a radar is placed at the entrance to the A3 and another at the exit from the highway, the system will calculate the time needed to cover the distance and will identify any deviations from the speed limit. The fine will be sent home, accompanied by photo evidence.

Although CNAIR has started the tender, funding has not yet been obtained, as it is expected from the European Union. The works could take 22 months, and a similar system implemented in Bulgaria had a significant impact on legal violations.
