The Cluj-Napoca Court sentenced a man from Cluj to 6,000 lei, equivalent to 150 days-fine, for the crime of public incitement. The incitement took place on TikTok, where the defendant, with nearly 30,000 followers, posted a video urging acts of violence against a public institution.
Following a police report, the man was detained for 24 hours on January 22. The sentence was reduced, considering the detention period, and the defendant will effectively pay 5,880 lei. Additionally, he was banned from the right to vote and to be elected to public office for three years. The video material contained calls for violent protests, emphasizing that peaceful actions would have no effect.
