The Cluj County School Inspectorate sent schools a notice regarding the organization of a Te Deum service at the beginning of the 2026–2027 school year. The event is scheduled for September 7 at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Cluj-Napoca, where the service will be officiated by His Eminence Andrei, starting at 12:00 p.m.
According to the document signed by chief school inspector Marinela Marc and Religion inspector Sidon Marian, schools in the city “will ensure the participation of one class of students,” under the supervision of the Religion teacher. Participants are expected at the Cathedral at 11:30 a.m.
Contacted by HotNews, Sidon Marian said that the notice does not constitute a directive and that participation is not mandatory. The inspector said that attendance will not be taken and that schools may organize themselves according to their own festive activities. He stressed that students who do not attend Religion classes are not being targeted.
According to the inspector, such services have been organized for approximately 14 years, based on protocols concluded between the Ministry of Education and the Romanian Orthodox Church。一پارated? GK? No.
