The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, conducted an unannounced inspection on Thursday at the construction site on Calea Văcărești, where he found that the works are significantly delayed, despite the deadline for completion having been exceeded.

On site, only three workers were found, despite notifications sent to the contractor Energomontaj for mobilization. Ciucu emphasized that the project should have been completed by now, but the current status is only 30%. The mayor warned about the risks of losing European funding, mentioning that the main issue is the poor management of the company.

The project aims to modernize 106 km of the network, with a total value of 1.76 billion lei, of which 1.3 billion lei are non-reimbursable funds. The works began in June 2023, and Ciucu promised to put pressure on the contractors to accelerate progress.
