The contract for the modernization of the Drobeta Turnu Severin - Băile Herculane railway line, worth 2.3 billion lei, has been signed by CFR SA. The project, financed by the Transport Program 2021-2027, has a total duration of 195 months, including 12 months for design and 60 months for execution. The objective is to improve the railway infrastructure to support Romania's economic competitiveness and integration into the European transport network. The works include modernization of the line, electrification, and ensuring traffic speeds of up to 100 km/h.
