CFR Călători has announced that, starting this month, travelers can purchase electronic tickets for international travel between Romania and Germany, using the ''Buy train tickets online'' button on the official website. The tickets can be used directly from mobile phones, eliminating the need for printing or picking them up from stations.

Until now, electronic tickets were only available for international routes to Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Moldova, and Ukraine. After online purchase, travelers receive the electronic ticket via email, in the form of a PDF document, which can be presented on an electronic device or printed. The tickets are nominal, and during identity checks on the train, travelers must present the electronic ticket and an identification document.

Purchasing tickets for international destinations can be done on the CFR Călători website or through the dedicated application.
