CFR Călători announced on Tuesday that it is facing acute underfunding, which complicates the provision of public services. The company emphasized that delays in payments for travel facilities granted by the state severely affect its operations. Despite these difficulties, CFR Călători is committed to settling its debts to CFR Infrastructură, having monthly expenses of 360 million lei.

Recently, the company received funds from the Railway Reform Authority, but outstanding debts to suppliers range from 30 to 180 days. The Minister of Transport has called for a quick resolution of the situation, threatening measures against the management of CFR Călători and CFR Infrastructură if the problems persist.
