The bill, adopted by Parliament in October, stipulates that individuals who wish to withdraw funds from Pillar II will initially receive only 30% of the amount, the rest being paid over a period of eight years, with the exception of cancer patients who can withdraw the entire amount. Judges from the High Court have referred the matter to the Constitutional Court, citing ambiguities and possible unconstitutionality in the law, emphasizing that citizens have the right to clear and predictable legislation. Additionally, AUR contests the law, accusing the Government of intentions to "steal" the pensions of Romanians and arguing that the amendments favor fund managers and the state, to the detriment of taxpayers.
