In the commune of Colți, Buzău county, dozens of Carpathian scorpions have been spotted in rocks and dry vegetation, spreading to other areas of Buzău County. Although they are no larger than a few centimeters and their venom is not comparable to that of desert scorpions, their bites can cause allergic reactions. The endemic species Euscorpius carpathicus thrives in favourable geological conditions and locals recognize their presence in the warm season. Although they are not pests, it is advisable to leave them in their natural habitat.
