Călin Georgescu, at the Court for the appeal regarding the measure of judicial control in the case for promoting the legionary ideology

Călin Georgescu arrived at the Bucharest Tribunal on Friday morning to be heard in the case of the appeal regarding the judicial control measure that targets him in the file in which he is being tried for promoting the legionary ideology. The judges' decision today will be final.

The preventive measure against Călin Georgescu was ordered about a year ago by the prosecutors of the General Prosecutor's Office. In the first case, he is officially accused of promoting the legionary ideology, and the trial has surpassed the preliminary stages, entering the substantive trial phase.

In parallel, Georgescu is facing a second criminal case at the Court of Appeal, where he is accused of complicity in an attempt to commit actions against the constitutional order. The judges recently validated the indictment, allowing the continuation of the trial without changes, despite the lawyers' challenges regarding the legality of certain evidence.

The court has decided that the evidence remains valid for trial, and the case continues to be monitored closely.
