The National Company Bucharest Airports (CNAB) announced that the parking lot built in 2003 needs consolidation and modernization works due to structural degradation and infiltrations. The order to start the works has been given, and they will last approximately 10 months. The works will include foundation consolidation, the creation of connecting beams, restoration of waterproofing and electrical installations, as well as the replacement of facade elements.
In the first phase, which starts on April 23, the two upper levels of the parking lot will be closed, and passengers will only have access to the ground floor area. CNAB recommends using the parking lot near the Departures terminal, considering the limited number of available spaces. The airport currently has 2,226 parking spaces, and after the closure of the upper levels, 400 spaces will remain.
At the end of the year, a new parking lot with 1,019 spaces, organized on 4 levels, will open to supplement the parking capacity.
