Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that, "by the end of Monday," a new set of measures will be implemented to reduce fuel prices, most likely by lowering the excise tax.
In an interview with G4Media, Bolojan explained that the measures aim to limit diesel and gasoline exports, avoid speculative prices, and reduce the biofuel component. On Monday morning, there will be a meeting of the working group to analyze the capacity to reduce the excise tax and its impact on the budget.
The Prime Minister emphasized that any measure must be well thought out to avoid supply blockages. He also warned that the situation will complicate as the conflict in Iran prolongs, affecting the global economy. The government has already declared a state of crisis in the gasoline market and has instituted measures to protect citizens and the economy.
