BNS accused Oracle Global Services Romania S.R.L. of dismissing union leaders shortly after the establishment of the Oracle Employees Union in Romania and of refusing to start negotiations for the collective labor contract. BNS sent six formal notifications to the company, requesting the initiation of negotiations, but without a concrete response.
The response received was considered superficial, and the company continued to carry out collective dismissals without negotiated guarantees. BNS reported the situation to the Territorial Labor Inspectorate and compared the situation of employees in Romania with those in other European countries, where collective contracts are negotiated. Additionally, BNS highlighted the dismissal of the president and vice president of the union just six days after its establishment, raising questions about the respect for trade union freedom. BNS calls on the authorities to verify the situation and demands Oracle to comply with the legislation regarding social dialogue and collective negotiation.
