Former president Traian Băsescu discussed in the show Politica Zilei about the electoral competition for the Capital City Hall, characterizing it as 'robust' due to the diversity of experienced candidates, such as Ciprian Ciucu and Cătălin Drulă. However, Băsescu warned that the right has made a strategic mistake by running with two representatives, which could facilitate the victory of the PSD. He emphasized that Băluță, the mayor of Sector 4, benefits from the votes of the PSD and AUR, complicating the chances of the right.

Additionally, Băsescu criticized Băluță for the management of repairs at the Unirii Passage, accusing the Ciolacu Government of directing funds towards it, bypassing the Capital City Hall. Băsescu stated that the current government should remove the policy of destroying Bucharest, generated by former Prime Minister Adrian Năstase, and emphasized that Băluță should not aspire to the position of general mayor as long as he accepts such financial 'barters.'
