Petrișor Peiu, the leader of the AUR senators, stated at a press conference that his party understands the frustration of Călin Georgescu, who called for a boycott of the elections for the Capital City Mayor. However, AUR encourages Bucharest residents to go vote on December 7, emphasizing the importance of participation in democracy.

Peiu stated that AUR has the duty to represent conservative values and those dissatisfied with the current governing coalition. Although the party has not yet designated a candidate for mayor, it has 9 days to do so and to gather the necessary signatures. Candidacies can be submitted between November 12-17, and the electoral campaign will start on November 22. The elections will take place in a single round, and the candidate with the most votes will become mayor.
