The AUR organization from Balotești has initiated a petition addressed to the government and parliament, demanding the dissolution of the 'Elie Wiesel' Institute and the Museum of Jewish History and the Holocaust in Romania.

AUR claims that the National Institute for the Study of the Holocaust in Romania "Elie Wiesel" has transformed from an institution dedicated to scientific research into one with a role of ideological censorship, which uses public funds at its discretion. Representatives of the institute reacted, emphasizing that AUR's arguments are based on disinformation and that such actions contribute to the establishment of dictatorship and antisemitism.

AUR claims that the two institutions are conducting a campaign against Octavian Goga and Mircea Vulcănescu, controversial figures associated with the fascist regime in Romania. Although Romanian legislation prohibits the cult of these figures, several local and central authorities do not respect this prohibition, and AUR leaders have repeatedly promoted the cult of fascist personalities.
