Valeriu Munteanu, AUR deputy, explained the reasons behind his amendment to the ANI law, which stipulates that the spouses and partners of dignitaries must submit declarations of wealth and interests, published by the Agency.

The amendment was recently adopted in the legal committee of the Chamber of Deputies, with the support of PSD. Munteanu emphasized that identifying individuals with relationships similar to those of spouses will be the responsibility of ANI, which will verify the complaints received. He mentioned that the law does not apply to mistresses, but only to established partnership relationships. Munteanu excluded support for civil partnership, considering that current legislation is sufficient to protect the traditional family. The law is now being debated in the Senate.
