The collection of African masks and statuettes of General Mihai Caraman, an emblematic figure of Romanian espionage, is exhibited at the Cesianu-Racoviță Palace and will be auctioned online on October 30. Considered one of the most refined collections in Romania, it reflects the influence of African art on modernity, having connections with great artists such as Brâncuși and Picasso. They were inspired by primitive forms, which contributed to the development of modern art.
The exhibition is open daily, and the pieces have accessible starting prices, beginning at 100 euros. This collection not only offers a glimpse into tribal art but also into the intersection between African and European culture.
