AstraZeneca announced that its CEO, Pascal Soriot, earned £17.7 million in 2025, an increase of over 6% compared to 2024, when he earned £16.6 million. This includes annual bonuses of £4.3 million and long-term shares worth £11.6 million. The company reported a profit increase of 40% and a rise in shares over the last 12 months, and Soriot could benefit from an additional salary increase in 2026, with a possible maximum package of £19.6 million. Although AstraZeneca is expanding its operations in the US and China and investing in weight loss drugs, it has reduced investments in the UK, canceling a £450 million expansion for a vaccine facility last year. Soriot has consistently been named the highest-paid CEO in the UK, earning 176 times the average salary of an AstraZeneca employee.
