On the night from Saturday to Sunday, a gun attack occurred in Taksim Square in Istanbul, injuring two Romanian citizens who were visiting Turkey. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Ţoiu, announced that the two Romanians were lightly injured and are receiving medical care, being out of any danger. The incident was reported to the Romanian Consulate General in Istanbul by a Romanian woman who was also present, and she was not injured. A consular team went to the scene to provide assistance, and the ministry is in contact with local authorities. The two Romanians were part of a group participating in a cultural event in Istanbul. Minister Ţoiu wished them a speedy recovery and emphasized the consular support provided.
