On the occasion of the beginning of the winter sales period, Paul Anghel, the general director of ANPC, issued a series of recommendations for consumers. He emphasized the importance of caution in online purchases, especially from stores outside the EU, where consumer protection may be limited. Consumers are advised to compare prices using online comparators, read product descriptions, and check delivery costs. Anghel stressed the need to verify whether the reduced price in the cart is the one initially displayed and recommended ensuring the security of the site by checking for the presence of the "https" protocol (which offers security compared to "http") and the security symbol in the browser. He also mentioned that discounts must be genuine, and delivery and return terms must be respected. In case of issues, consumers can contact ECC Romania for merchants in the EU or ANPC for those in Romania. The legal warranty is a minimum of two years, applicable to discounted products.
