The National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) recommends that Romanians carefully check offers and avoid buying under pressure from promotional messages as Black Friday 2026 approaches, scheduled for November 6. Retailers have already begun promoting discounts, and some campaigns may run before or after this date.
ANPC draws attention to messages such as “Today only!”, “Last chance!” or “Only three items available!”, which can lead to impulsive decisions. The institution emphasizes that the urgency of an offer does not suspend consumers’ rights.
Before placing an order, buyers are advised to set a budget and a product list, check the retailer’s identity, contact details, terms and conditions, return policy and privacy rules. The discount must be compared with the lowest price charged by the retailer in the previous 30 days.
Consumers should also analyze the final price, including delivery costs and payment terms. ANPC recommends checking the estimated delivery time, which may change because of the large number of orders, as well as identifying posts with a commercial purpose online.
