In this month, the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) conducted a national control, checking over 1,900 economic operators. As a result of these checks, numerous irregularities were found, including the sale of expired food products, moldy meat, and used equipment.
ANPC imposed 1,209 contraventional fines, totaling over 5.72 million lei, and permanently removed products worth nearly 200,000 lei from sale. The activity of 21 operators was temporarily suspended for remedying deficiencies. Among the main non-compliances are the failure to respect storage conditions for perishable products, the absence of translations on labels, and the use of used equipment, affecting the hygiene and quality of products.
